𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙛𝙤𝙧?
It’s likely you’ve been asked this question many times, and it’s likely you’ve responded with things you are truly grateful for.
But have you ever answered that question with a list of things about 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛 that you are grateful for? I know this 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 been something I've practiced until recently. I could list names of all the people and things I am grateful for (external), yet rarely--if ever--expressed gratitude for myself, until now. 𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙩 𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙠𝙨 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨...
𝙄 𝙖𝙢 𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙛𝙪𝙡...
—for a body that communicates and alerts me when I should rest, when I should eat, when I should hydrate.
—for the emotional, spiritual, and physical transformations I am choosing to experience
—for challenging myself to create empowering thoughts 𝙫𝙨 ones that sabotage my happiness
—for saying no to things that no longer serve me and saying yes to things that do
—that I choose to honor my body with movement, nourishment, and rest as an act of 𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛-𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 and 𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛-𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚
—that I choose to feed my mind with healthy, enriching content that inspires, encourages, motivates and sets me into action
—that I choose to set healthy boundaries to honor my space and my time
—for setting higher standards, ones that honor my needs, my health, my emotional state
—for choosing the difficult roads, without complete certainty, and dancing with fear by accepting a "knowing" that they are the necessary paths to take.
This isn't an exhaustive list by any means, but it's enough to remind me that I get to choose my happiness by putting my energy into the things & people that serve me well too.
