Fall & Winter Outdoor Lifestyle Family Photography Experience
Fall is upon us and the winter season will soon follow.
With the welcomed coolness that Autumn gifts us comes a renewed interest in outdoor photography.
And I understand why. I truly enjoy all seasons, but I have a whole new appreciation for what Fall brings: cooler temperatures, oversized sweaters, layering, hot drinks, warm fires, and my very favorite apparel—jeans ;)
While I don’t believe there is a “right” time of year to schedule a family photography experience, if you’re considering a Fall (or Winter session), you may be wondering what to wear.
Take a look at the images below, and read through the tips. I hope it eliminates some of the guesswork and gets you feeling inspired!
3 Tips On What to Wear for your Fall (or Winter) Outdoor Lifestyle Photography Experience
Tip #1: Layers
If there’s ever a time for layering, these are the seasons! Not only will it add additional warmth, but layers add depth and visual interest. Tights, cardigans, blazers, and accessories like hats and scarves fit the season.
Tip #2: Coordinate the Family Around One Favorite Outfit
Develop your color scheme around your favorite wardrobe. Outfits should coordinate, not match.
Tip #3 (my personal favorite): Wear What Is Reflective of You
At the end of the day, what matters most is that you feel good in what you're wearing; that you feel beautiful comfortable and confident. After all, this is scheduled, intentional time with your loved ones. This is the time to play, to connect, to laugh, to get down on the ground and engage with your family. What you wear is not nearly as important as being present and enjoying the experience.
