MEET THE MCLESTERS
Updated: Aug 6, 2019
I am so fond of them.
There’s a brief phase in the ages that lend to authenticity.
They say what they feel.
They act out their emotions.
They are still naturally, curious and fervent learners. Curiosity sparked by their surroundings.
I admire this phase.
It gets a little fuzzy in adult-hood.
The McLester children are in this marvelous stage of life and I treasured the time I had with them—watching them play, explore, and nuzzle closely to their parents that offered them comfort, warmth and security.
Shy at introduction—a trait near and dear to my heart—yet their tender smiles gave promise to a chance outside that safe and quite place.
A little face, kissed pink from the chill in the air, nuzzled into the warmth of her mother’s embrace.
Small hands, vanished into sleeves that were just a bit too long.
And once they were encouraged to explore—the light in their eyes glimmered with the setting sun. Smiles stretched wide on their faces.
Oh, and the laughter:
“Soft and strong and loud and light,
Heard from morning’s rosiest height,
When the sound of all delight,
Fills a child’s clear laughter”
Thank you, Ashley and Matt McLester.
You braved the cool temperatures & steady crisp breezes of that mid-December afternoon.
I am grateful for our brief time together and look forward to our paths crossing again.
